RanterFest 2024: Party Celebrating Son Ranto Show’s 1,000th Episode

The Son Ranto Show is celebrating our 1000th episode with a huge Cubs fan party and you’re invited!

What: RanterFest! Cubs fan fun! With comedy, music, trivia contests, raffles, softball, Cubs games, and a live taping of the Son Ranto Show’s 1000th episode. Come hang out with your favorite Cubs broadcasters, bloggers, podcasters, and personalities!

When: Friday, May 31-Sunday, June 2 (detailed schedule below)

Why: To raise money for the Chicago based youth empowerment organization Lost Boyz and celebrate podcast and birthday milestones with Cubs fan friends and colleagues.

 Here’s what’s in store…

Weekend festivities kick off Friday, May 31, with a pregame meetup at Nisei Lounge and the Cubs game. Postgame, we’ll gather for a comedy and rock show at Output Wrigleyville featuring music from Bleacher Bum Band and Son Ranto Show’s regular standup comedian guests.

Acts include Cubs fans Joe Kilgallon (Good Grief, Joe Kilgallon Pod, NBC) and Ken Schultz (Out Sports) Brewers fan Eric Wielo (Up & Adams, CONAN), Reds fans Billy Devore (Apple Music, Pandora, IFC) and Chris Weir (Amazon, Sirius XM, YouTube)

On Saturday, June 1, the celebration begins at noon at Almost Home Tavern  with a meet and greet lunchtime hang with food and drink specials. Then at 1:20 (when else?), we’ll have games, trivia, raffles, contests, panels and live music as we film footage for our 1000th episode. Prizes are furnished by RanterFest sponsors, Kollexor, Matt Kammerer’s Permanent Paintings, Ballhawk Jewelry, and Club 400

Many of us will then head to the Wrigley bleachers to secure our seats and Christopher Morel Bobbleheads before the Cubs and Reds play at 6:15pm. Others will hang back at Almost Home to watch the game.

To wrap up on Sunday, June 2, we’ll play a celebrity 16-inch softball game with a donut brunch. Celebrities, location and time TBD.

Tickets are available as a weekend pass or ala carte for all RanterFest events at http://www.sonranto.com/ranterfest

Also! Wear your Ranter Charity hat proudly as all proceeds will go to support Lost Boyz!

Through fundraiser events like this and John Baker Day, Son Ranto Show has raised tens of thousands of dollars for great causes over the years. And since 2020, we’ve partnered with Lavont’e Stewart and the Lost Boyz program in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago, which teaches life and baseball skills to kids from underserved communities. As a final note, 100% of proceeds from RanterFest’s tickets and raffles will be donated to Lost Boyz. Help us help our community and reserve your ticket to RanterFest now.
