Pete Crow-Armstrong Being Promoted to MLB

As first reported by Jeff Passan and subsequently confirmed by Patrick Mooney and Sahadev Sharma, the Cubs are promoting top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong to the bigs. He is reportedly being activated on Tuesday in time for the Cubs’ second game in Coors Field’s spacious outfield.

No word yet on how the Cubs will create space for him, but they’ll need openings on both the active and 40-man rosters. The most likely candidate could be Miles Mastrobuoni, who is up with the Cubs and isn’t seeing the field in anything other than a very limited substitution role.

David Ross may have to adjust his explanation of playing time, however, as PCA hasn’t helped the Cubs to get where they are. There’s obviously a lot of nuance involved here and I’m being somewhat facetious, but it’s a little funny.

More to come.
