Can We Interest You in Some Great Pictures of Former Cubs Prospect Daniel Vogelbach?

Apropos of almost nothing, these pics of former Cubs prospect Daniel Vogelbach practically screamed at me to create a post in their honor. The big lefty slugger will be leading off at DH against the Cubs Wednesday in Pittsburgh, which is reason enough to celebrate him here for a few moments.

Most Cubs fans will remember him as the player who went to Seattle in return for Mike Montgomery, after which Vogelbach struggled for a few seasons. He broke out in 2019, hitting 30 homers and earning an All-Star nod, but has managed just 15 dingers since. Maybe he can tag one against the Cubs just to rile a few folks up.

I would also like to note here that Vogelbach was Cubs Insider’s first live player interview all the way back in 2014 when he was with the High-A Daytona Cubs. That interview took place the same day Kyle Scwharber was promoted from Kane County, plus Albert Almora Jr. had just hit for the cyle in a D-Cubs win. Ah, the memories.

Anyway, Vogelbach is somehow captivatingly photogenic and I thought these AP pics were cool.
