Jess Bryant is due with her first child any day now, but that hasn’t slowed her down one bit. As seen in her husband’s Instagram story, she was in the batting cage ripping line drives this weekend with a swing that might make some major leaguers envious.
“Nice swing,” Kris Bryant says while walking around the L-screen serving up the rocket. Then, in what was either incredible coincidence or excellent timing, Bryant lauds a “Better swing” from someone who looks an awful like him hitting a home run against Chris Sale in the All-Star Game.
“Let’s gooooooo!” he cheers jokingly as the clip ends.

This dude is a goshdarn national treasure and it’s pretty obvious that being a dad really is what he was put on this earth to do. Bryant’s deadpan sense of humor has been on point lately, probably due to a mix of fatherhood and just being at peace with the whole service-time mess that had been hanging over him for so long.
If there’s a silver lining to this shutdown, it’s that KB gets to be home for an extended period of time with Jess and their son. As much as I’m sure he’d rather be playing baseball under normal circumstances, consolation prizes don’t come any better than this.
