Video: Ben Zobrist Blasts Leadoff HR in Second Pelicans Game

After popping the first homer of his rehab stint while batting left-handed as the DH Thursday night in Myrtle Beach, Ben Zobrist got right back to work Friday evening. Playing second base and leading off, a righty-batting Zo put the Birds on the board by driving a 2-0 pitch over the fence to lead off the home half of the 1st.

Say what you want about it being A-ball, but that’s not a homer-happy park and we’re talking about a 38-year-old who took nearly 3 months off. He’s now homered from both sides of the plate in consecutive games and is looking like the rust is coming loose pretty quickly.

If you’re watching this and thinking about how you’d really like to get your hands on some sweet Pelicans gear, check out the team shop and enter code PELICANSFAMILY19 for 30% off at checkout. I ordered the Palmetto State cap recently and the order shipped within 15 minutes of being placed, then arrived less than 48 hours later.
