Watch: El Mago Makes Another Magic Tag

The Cubs were clinging to a 6-5 lead and Craig Kimbrel had walked Wil Myers to lead off the 9th inning. But with one out and needing to get a runner in scoring position after a pop bunt failed to advance him, Myers was on the move when Kimbrel uncorked a high fastball to Manuel Margot. Victor Caratini fired to second, but the throw was high and wide and would have resulted in a stolen base had it been anyone other than Javy Báez at short.

But El Mago snagged the toss and reached back blindly with his glove to catch Myers on the left cleat before he was able to reach the bag. Just incredible. The play gave the Cubs two outs and ensured that Manny Machado‘s soft liner to third ended the game after Margot walked.
