Cubs Quick Hits: Tyler Chatwood’s Insane Spin Rate

I get that spin rate means nothing without command, trust me, but it’s still so hard to ignore just how much spin Tyler Chatwood generates. For instance, his four-seam spin rate average is greater than 75 percent of all other MLB righties.

And when you look really closely, you’ll see that the control-phobic righty throws some fastballs with more spin than anyone else in the league. That is insane.

So, yeah, I’m going to keep dreaming about what Chatwood looks like with good command because his stuff is still among the best in MLB.
