Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/4/19): Almora Leads Off, Mills on Mound

Today’s lineup is a bit of a hodgepodge, what with the trek to the Reds facility in Goodyear keeping some of the regulars back in Mesa. Most notable is Cole Hamels, who’ll pitch a sim game at the Cubs facilities rather than schlep 45 minutes west.

Albert Almora Jr. will be in the lineup, leading off in center as we’ve seen frequently in the early going. Daniel Descalso and Javy Báez make up the middle infield, followed by Victor Caratini catching and Mark Zagunis in right. Jim Adduci is at first, Ryan Court is at third, Phillip Evans is in left, and P.J. Higgins handles the DH duties.

Alec Mills gets the start with Hamels staying home and he’ll be looking to maintain a spot atop the Iowa shuttle this season. Mills has shown flashes of potential in the Cubs organization, there’s just not much room with the big club at this point.

First pitch from Goodyear is at 2:05pm CT and you can catch the Cubs radio call on MLB.com.
