Yu Darvish just shared a couple videos of him throwing during rehab. This is the first time that we’ve seen Darvish throw since undergoing elbow surgery in September.

Darvish attempted to return throughout the 2018 season to no avail, ultimately being shut down after having to exit a rehab start in South Bend after just one inning in late August. The MRI after that start revealed a stress reaction in his elbow that eventually led to the surgery.

While the road to recovery for Darvish is one that has been covered ad nauseam in Cubs’ circles, his return to health would be a major lift for the team in 2019. Many Cubs’ fans are dreaming of Bryce Harper this offseason, but a healthy Kris Bryant and Yu Darvish would be a dramatic boost from what we saw in 2018.

    1. Yeah man. If they by some good fortune get a full season out of Darvish / Bryant / Morrow – that’s like having picked up a couple big free agents.
