Roster Update: Brandon Kintzler Joins Cubs in Steel City, Randy Rosario Heads to Iowa

Reliever Brandon Kintzler, who the Cubs acquired yesterday before the trade deadline, will join his new team in Pittsburgh. Randy Rosario, who’s put up a 1.97 ERA and 5.10 FIP in 26 games for the Cubs this season, is heading back to Iowa.

Kintzler has appeared in 45 games for the Nationals and has a 3.59 ERA (3.44 FIP). His HR/FB rate is a stellar 5.6 percent, leading to a mere 0.42 HR/9.

Righty Justin Hancock was moved to the 60-day DL yesterday to make room for Kinzler on the 40-man roster.
