Watch: Rizzo Clears Bases with Ringing Double

The Cubs had already scored two runs and had the bases loaded with only one out when Anthony Rizzo stepped to the plate against Erik Goeddel. After fouling off the first changeup he saw, Rizzo pounded the next offspeed offering out to right-center to score Jason Heyward, Albert Almora Jr. and Javy Baez.

That put the Cubs up 8-3, but they weren’t done yet. Addison Russell would come up later in the inning to cap the inning with a two-run homer. Though these represented Rizzo’s only R’s BI for the game, he ended up going 4-for-5 to get his batting average up to .243.
