Watch: Kris Bryant Pranks Fantasy Baseball Owners as Pizza Delivery Guy

With all due respect to The Masters, I’m really digging the more recent tradition of Kris Bryant filming prank videos during spring training. In addition to the high production value, I think there’s something to be said for the juxtaposition of the low-key superstar with his sponsor, Red Bull, which is more readily associated with extreme sports.

The entire line of promo shoots — like the farm boy clip or the balls of fire or driving race cars and interviewing Austrians about baseball — has been fantastic, but it’s the pranks that have really won the day. You may recall that the first one came after his rookie campaign, when he pulled one over on the Mesa Community College baseball team.

Little did we know at the time how prophetic his parting words would be.

“Good luck this year, win another ring,” Bryant told the MCC players. “Hopefully I get a ring too. At the end of the year, we’ll compare ’em.”

The tables were turned the following year, when KB was the subject of a video shoot that would have him hitting BP at a ballpark in his hometown of Las Vegas. When the scheduled pitcher didn’t show up on time, the producers scrambled to find a replacement from among the crew members.

Little did Bryant know, the video sound guy was actually fellow Las Vegan Greg Maddux in disguise, though he sensed something was up when the Hall of Famer started snapping off breaking stuff.

Bryant’s back in the driver’s seat this time around, playing “Kristio,” owner of a local pizza joint who delivers some pies and Red Bull to an unsuspecting fan who has just drafted KB in his fantasy baseball league. But enough preamble, let’s get to the video. And if you’re interested in more behind-the-scenes stuff, check out redbull.com/KBfantasy.
