Watch: Cubs Front Office Hilariously Trolls Tommy La Stella with Dating Video
The ongoing prank war between the Tommy La Stella and the members of the front office has been one of the more fun narratives to follow this spring. But whether it was 3 AM parking in Theo Epstein’s spot and being forced to practice in khakis or the infielder subsequently putting a bounce house in said spots, the antics have been pretty pedestrian.
That all changed Friday afternoon, when the brass took things to the next level. No, that’s putting it too mildly. They went with the nuclear option, enlisting Anthony Rizzo and using some outtakes to cut a dating video in an effort to help TLS find love.

I don’t know how you recover from getting rekt this hard, but I believe La Stella is up to the task. In fact, his ability to come back from adversity is one of his hallmarks. Though some apparently still bear ill will over La Stella going AWOL a couple years back, it’s clear that he’s a beloved member of the team.
To see how both his teammates and bosses embrace him is to understand just what the Jersey boy means to the Cubs. In addition to being an integral part of the clubhouse, La Stella serves as a cautionary tale to those who’d dare cross the front office.
