Watch: Mike Montgomery Leaves Upper Decker at Chop House for First MLB Homer

Mike Montgomery is doing everything in his power to keep his spot in the rotation, and that includes hitting his first MLB dinger Wednesday afternoon. He was crushing on the mound as well, holding the Braves hitless through the first four innings.

Facing knuckballer R.A. Dickey for the second time in the game, Monty sat back on a 2-0 floater and absolutely tomahawked (see what I did there?) it out to right and just above the Chop House deck. Speaking of which, it’ll be very nice to not hear that silly chant every 30 seconds moving forward..
