Daily Cubs Clip Fix (2/24/17): Cubs on Sloan Park Field for Practice During Mesa World Series Rally

It was a glorious, sunny Friday at Sloan Park in Mesa, Arizona, where the city held a family-friendly fiesta for the world champion Chicago Cubs. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into today and, admittedly, the Cubs weren’t on the actual stage for long. Like, maybe two minutes (of which you can watch here). But the combination of the stunning weather, the Cubs holding batting and fielding practice on the real stage — Sloan Park’s field — and that trophy — oh man, that shiny trophy — added up to one very cool celebration for the Cubs’ Wrigleyville West fans.

I shot a bunch of photos today and also got some good video of the practice. It was a pretty neat environment, just being able to watch the team practice fielding and hitting while people were sauntering about the concourse (fans weren’t allowed into the seating areas). I think you’re going to like it.
