This week marks the Baseball Writers’ Association of America Awards featuring the Rookie of the Year Award, Manager of the Year Award, Cy Young Award, and the Most Valuable Player Award. Here’s a rundown of the finalists along with days and times for the awards announcements.

An important note in regards to the BBWAA Awards is that the voting was completed prior to the postseason, so nothing that occurred during the playoffs was taken into consideration.
So far this offseason the Chicago Cubs have been taking home a load of hardware. Anthony Rizzo and Jason Heyward scored Gold Glove Awards, Anthony Rizzo also won a Silver Slugger, the Wilson Defensive Player of the Year, and the Platinum Glove for best defensive player in the National League. I sure hope Anthony has a big trophy case.
Jake Arrieta was awarded a Silver Slugger Award last week as well. Theo Epstein was named MLB Executive of the Year by Sporting News and Kyle Hendricks won the Player’s Choice Award for National League Outstanding Pitcher of the Year.
