Injury Update: Matt Szczur on the Mend, to Start Rehab Assignment

Matt Szczur, who’s been on the 15 day DL since May 3rd with a right hamstring strain, will begin a rehabilitation assignment starting tomorrow, Thursday, May 19, 2016, at AA Tennessee.

There’s been no formal timetable set for his return but he’s eligible to return anytime now, subject, of course, to Joe Maddon and team’s approval. Matt has been stellar for the Cubs so far this year, slashing .367/.441/.600, with 2 home runs, 9 runs and 10 RBIs in 30 at-bats.
