Morning Blast: Video Highlights of All Five Home Runs From Yesterday

I love these morning posts because home runs are a sweet way to start the day. And what better way to celebrate home runs then to watch the Cubs hit them. Here’s your daily dose of home runs. Five big bombs, presented by the 2016 Chicago Cubs.

Kyle Schwarber hit his first home run of the spring with this solo shot in the bottom of the first inning:

Addison Russell, who’s shown some impressive power this spring, hits his fifth home run of Cactus League play with this crushing two-run blow to center field:

Matt Szczur, who had an incredible day after learning that he made the 25-man roster (went 3 for 3 with a HR, double, stolen base, one run and two RBIs), powers this deep ball to left center field in the bottom of the sixth inning:

And this is how Matt celebrated (I love this):

And of course, Grandpa Rossy would not be left out of this homer party as he hit his second home run of the spring in the bottom of the eighth. Perhaps the motorized cart was just a wee bit premature?

And again, in the bottom of the eighth inning, Munenori Kawasaki saved the best home run for last. With a slightly inebriated crowd raucously chanting “Ka-wa-sa-ki, Ka-wa-sa-ki,” Munenori took his cue from Jason Heyward (a.k.a., the Blue Hornet) and gave us our first peek at the Cubs latest super-hero, “Bat-flip Bombasaki!”
