Relive Game 5 Win Using Roller-Coaster Win Probability Graph

I had a few moments during the game when I genuinely questioned whether I could watch.

The win probability graph from the Cubs 9-8 victory over Dusty Baker’s Nationals perfectly illustrates the ups and downs of the nerve-wracking contest.

We can thank Addison Russell for making Baker chomp on his toothpick when the Cubs shortstop rocketed a batted ball down the third base line. Addi’s double gave the Cubs a .271 boost in WPA and 5-4 lead, which was the biggest game-changing moment outside the Adam Lind double play turned by Javy and Addi in the 8th.
