Watch: WillCo and War Bear Go Back-to-Back to Open Second Half

Well, that was quick.

Orioles starter Kevin Gausman has been less than good this season and the Cubs jumped all over him early. After a leadoff double from Ben Zobrist and a single from Anthony Rizzo, Willson Contreras stepped in and crushed a 2-0 splitter to deeeeeep left-center.

Kyle Schwarber then dug in and absolutely crushed the very next pitch into almost the same place. I really, really like Schwarber being aggressive and jumping on strikes early in the count like this. Man, if he can put it together…

Looks like Gausman’s trade price just came down a few notches.
