Injury Update: Eloy Jimenez Exits Early with Tweaked Hamstring

Eloy Jimenez left Sunday’s game in the 6th inning after tweaking his hamstring. Sounds like the kid is really taking those Jorge Soler comparisons to heart, huh? All jokes aside, this isn’t considered a serious issue and word has it the big slugger is day-to-day.

As we saw with Dylan Cease, the Cubs are going to take it easy with these top prospects when it comes to injuries. No reason to push a guy in May, particularly when you’re talking about a player like Jimenez who was only recently activated.

This minor setback comes the day after Jimenez absolutely crushed a ball to deep left-center for his second home run of the season for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Barring any further issues, it doesn’t look as though this young man is long for the Grand Strand.
